The Queen is not the only UK institution to be celebrating 90 years this summer.
On 20th May, one of Felixstowe’s most prestigious landmarks will celebrate 90 years since it was officially opened to the public by Lord Woodbridge.
And developers Gipping Homes are looking for some special people to help celebrate the landmark birthday.
The Bartlet, formerly The Bartlet Hospital, was built by the eminent architect Munro Cautley after a local doctor, Dr John Bartlet, left his life savings for the construction of a convalescent home on the Felixstowe coast.
Heather and Peter Blemings, who have worked tirelessly for three years to bring the building back to life, are throwing a grand celebration in the grounds of the Bartlet on Saturday 21st May, and are on the lookout for some special party guests.
Are you turning 90 this year? And did you work at the Bartlet Hospital? Or maybe you have been treated there in the past? If this is you then they want to hear from you.
The Bartlet Hospital treated patients from across the region for 80 years until in 2006 when the NHS closed the facility to the public. In that same year the building and the grounds surrounding it were recognised as being cultural significant when it was granted Grade II* status.
On reaching the milestone, Heather told us “Peter and I are very excited to have reached this point and it is a pleasure to be able to celebrate the anniversary of The Bartlet with its newest residents, and hopefully some of Felixstowe’s oldest. Dr Bartlet and Matron themselves may even be making a surprise appearance!”
If you know someone who fits the criteria and who would like to come along to the party on the afternoon of Saturday 21st May, please contact the team at Prominent PR on email@example.com or call 01473 276126.
